The Black and White Wedding Theme

Posted on 29. Dec, 2009 by admin in Themes

A striking color combination, black and white is becoming a popular theme for today’s wedding. It is versatile enough to be ultra formal or informal, providing a broad of range of choices for you, the bride, to plan for your day.

Black and white opens up interesting theme opportunities. Plan a glamorous event by having a film noir, Hollywood style wedding, complete with feathers and sparkling diamond crystals.

Pick up on the lighthearted side of you, decorating with black and white polka dots. The bigger the dots, the more playful and modern the look.

Go classy with pinstripes, top hats, and strings of pearls.

Is either your groom or yourself musicians? Black and white works perfectly for the bass and treble clefs and musical staff.

For softer, more romantic appeal, base your wedding around black and white Tiffany noir designs.

If you plan to have a more formal affair, be the only one to wear white to the wedding. Include in your invitations the dress code: guests get the opportunity to wear their black dresses or tuxes.

Carefully plan the locations for your wedding ceremony and reception. An old-fashioned church building would not fit with a pinstriped wedding, while a classy reception area with black and white tiled floors would coordinate perfectly.

Serve black and white treats at the reception, such as dark and white chocolates, coffee, and matching M&M’s.

Most importantly in planning your black and white theme, do not be afraid to let your personality shine—even if black and white is such a striking statement. They are fun colors to work with and can be made to fit whatever theme you want.
